Many nations in Europe are under a heat wave that has caused devastating fires in some parts of the continent.

Over 1000 deaths have been attributed to the weather in Spain and Portugal. In France and Greece, firefighters have been out in force to fight fires.

Britain recorded its hottest-ever day on Tuesday, with a high of 39.1 degrees Celsius, breaking the previous record.

The Rhine River is a vital shipping route in Europe and is causing concern in Germany.
