GM reveals electric Chevrolet Blazer priced starting at $45,000

The Chevrolet Blazer is expected to compete against the Ford Mach-E and theTesla Model Y in the electric car market.

The launch of the Detroit automaker's EV marks an important step in attracting attention to the technology.

According to GM, the Blazer EV will arrive in dealer showrooms in the summer of 2020. The starting price for an entry-level Blazer will range from $45,000 to $66,000, while the performance variant will cost $66,000.

The model Y Performance and Mach-E are capable of 3.5 seconds and 6 seconds, respectively.

The range of features and capabilities will be determined by the vehicle models. The electric range of the vehicle is an important number for EV owners. There will be a variant for police use based on the model.

The traditional Blazer will be assembled at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

The vehicles are completely different in development, performance and looks, unlike the new EV that shares the same name and plant. GM's new Ultium platform is expected to underpin the automaker's next- generation electric vehicles.

Chevrolet Vice President Scott Bell said that there was nothing shared from the two vehicles.

Depending on the model, the Blazer EV will be able to drive either front, rear or all-wheel-drive. The interior of the vehicle is different from its traditional sibling and includes a driver-focused cockpit with a 17.7-inchdiagonal center screen and an 11-inch-diagonal drive information screen.

Chevy will have four electric models in showrooms next year, with the new Blazer EV expected to be one of them. Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are sold by the brand. There will be limited sales of the electric Silverado. GM has said that the electric Equinox will cost $30,000.

The starting price for the traditional 2022. blazer is between $35,000 and $43,000.
