The team that acquires Juan Soto won't just be getting one of the best hitters in baseball. The reigning Home Run Derby champion will also be getting it.

He turned down a $440 million contract extension to stay with the Nationals, but that didn't stop him from hitting home runs in all of Dodger Stadium.

Needing 19 home runs to beat his Dominican Republic countryman in the finals, Soto hit 15 during the two minutes of regulation time and finished the job with more than 30 seconds to spare. Juan Gonzlez was the youngest HR Derby winner when he won in 1993 at the age of 21.

The new episode of the J-Rod Show had just been aired.

The two-time defending champion was ousted by the 21-year-old Rodriguez, who smashed 81 homers.

Rodriguez hit 32 home runs in his first-round game against the Texas Rangers, setting the tone for his performance. Rodriguez was the top seed and went first in all three rounds.

The New York Mets' Pete Alonso, who won the last two competitions, but only scored 23 home runs in the semifinals, was not included.

• 2nd-youngest ever HR Derby champion • 2nd Nationals player to win (Bryce Harper in 2018) • 1st Dominican-born player to win since Robinson Cano in 2011 • Hit the farthest HR (482 feet)

• Hit the most 440-foot HRs (19)
