The Su-34s were used in the war.

Russian state television capture

Russian air-defense troops shot down one of the most sophisticated warplanes involved in the war.

There's one problem. The plane was a Russian one. There is a new fighter-bomber.

Yevgeny Poddubny is said to have captured on video the shoot-down over the city of Alchevsk. The allied forces destroyed a target in the sky over Alchevsk last night, according to Poddubny. It's not clear what the target is. The ball was on the ground for a long time.

The Su-34M is one of the few Su-34Ms that have been delivered to the Russian air force.

The contract to build 76 Su-34Ms was cut by the Kremlin in 2020 at a cost of $50 million per copy.

The first Su-34M unit became operational.

Russia's state media confirmed that part of the 277th has staged.

The baseline Su-34 borrows the airframe of the Su-27 fighter but adds a two person cockpit. 12 tons of bombs and missiles, including air-to-air missiles, can be carried by the Su-34.

There is a cannon in the Su-34. It has a multi-mode radar and an electronic countermeasures suite. It is similar to the U.S. Air Force's F-15E.

The new Su-34s have a dedicated interface for a new Pod that can carry three different sensors. Electronic search measures are carried by the UKR-RT Pod. A camera Pod is called the UKR-OE. A synthetic-aperture radar is included in the UKR-RL.

The combat capability of the basic Su-34 has been doubled by the Su-34M. The Su-34M is the most advanced warplane in Russian service.

The Russians were able to shoot down the Su-34M. RF-95890 is the 11th Su-34 the Russians have lost over the past month. The Su-34s have been built.

The Russian air force was supposed to be changed by the Su-34. A new era of high-tech, precision bombing was promised by the twin engine, twin seat supersonic fighter-bomber.

Older Russian planes carry unguided bombs that the Su-34s have flown into Ukraine carrying.

Russian warplanes are forced to fly low through the Ukrainian air-defenses in order to be able to deliver their bombs with any degree of accuracy because of a military-wide shortage of precision-guided munitions.

Russia has its own air-defenses. The IFF is a radio beacon that alert friendly air-defenses to their presence.

What happened over Alchevsk on Sunday is not known. It could have been a mechanical failure. Operator error may have been the reason for it.

Something or someone made a mistake and another Su-34 fell from the sky.
