With Emma Lamb, she shared a second successive century opening stand with 19 fours and a six in her 118.

England's top four all scored more than 50 again as Sophia Dunkley followed up her maiden century with 51, while Heather Knight made a 49-ball 63.

England punish lacklustre South Africa

It was a surprise when South Africa captain Sune Luus decided to field first, considering their struggles to contain the English batting line-up in the first two games.

There was ill-discipline throughout, with 15 wides and four no-balls, with Lamb and Beaumont sharing 149, after putting on 127 in the last game.

Lamb was dropped on 35 and 54, but it was another century that showed she is still at the top of the order, even though she was dismissed for 54.

When she was dropped on 50, she accelerated as she moved from her half-century to her ninth one-day international ton in just 30 balls. She is in a tie with Charlotte for the most England women have ever had in a single game.

After a total of 400 had looked likely, the opener slowed down her scoring because she was stumped as she looked to attack Nonkululeko Mlaba.

Dunkley was caught at long-on off Nadine de Klerk, before Danni Wyatt smashed a 14-ball 33 to help the team reach their target.

England needed 12 from the final over to register their highest score, but Knight was run out before Dean was trapped.

The fact the hosts could make such a total without the rested NatSciver demonstrates their power and depth, but they were aided by a poor South Africa display, with a three-ball spell that included two drops and a clear run-out opportunity missing summing up their performance.

New bowlers put their hand up for England

It would have been easy for England to capitulate after South Africa scored 61-0 off eight overs.

Dean stood up and hit Andrie with her first ball to break the stalemate.

England took 12 successive overs of pace at Tryon and Kapp that allowed them to settle and score freely, before Lamb came back to take the former.

Tryon holed out to long-on off Dean after he caught Nadine de Klerk.

Davidson-Richards, who was expensive in giving 1-33 in her first four-over spell, pinned Trisha Chetty in front, before Issy Wong and Davidson-Richards each took two of the remaining three victims.

With a new World Cup cycle under way, Knight and Keightley will be happy to be able to make changes and still bowl a side out in warm conditions.

'We've blown them out of the park' - reaction

Heather Knight said it was pleasing. When we returned from the World Cup, we challenged the girls to be better in a few areas and they have excelled.

The new cycle of 50-over cricket is off to a great start. The girls that we've brought in have been great and we've been able to keep winning. Three players were on the bench today.

Sune Luus is the captain of South Africa. Today was a good chance for us to hit our straps, bowl our lines and lengths and bowl them out for a reasonable total since we haven't performed to our full potential throughout the series.

It was still a good game of cricket despite that.

The player of the match was surprised that they were batting first. When Heather lost the toss, I thought it would be a long 50 overs.

I'm just trying to bat the way I bat. It's been great to put on some big partnerships with Emma Lamb.

It feels like a dream to me. I'm very pleased with how it's gone. I have been positive and clinical with my batting. The work has paid off.
