Court records show that Jody Hice, a Georgia Republican, was subpoenaed by the Georgia grand jury.

The grand jury in Atlanta has subpoenaed other Trump allies, including Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who has asked a federal judge to quash that demand.

On Monday, Hice's lawyer filed a notice that she was removing issues related to the subpoena from Georgia state court to the district court in Georgia. The action puts the groundwork in place for Hice to challenge the subpoena.

Hice supported Trump in his attempts to overturn Georgia's election. Hice voted against certifying Biden's victory in the wake of the Capitol riot.

In May, Hice lost a primary race in which he was trying to replace Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger as their party's nominee.

In January 2021, Raffensperger resisted a request from Trump to help him get enough votes in Georgia to reverse Biden's victory in the state.

Hice was subpoenaed by the grand jury in Fulton County.

He didn't know why he waited until Monday to have his lawyer remove the subpoena.
