The Repeat.gg platform is being acquired by Sony. According to Games Industry.biz, Repeat.gg has put on more than 100,000 tournaments with over 2.3 million participants.

Sony Interactive Entertainment is excited to explore more ways for players to engage in competitive gaming and expand the breadth of their offerings. We will be sharing more updates with our community in the future.

The team wrote in its post about the acquisition that they would have access to more resources, game titles and technology. PC, mobile, and other consoles will still be supported by the platform.

Sony is also a part owner of Evo

There have been a number of recent deals. Last week, Sony closed its acquisitions of Bungie and Haven Studios, and in May 2021, it announced a partnership with Discord.
