The creator of the Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends has announced that he will be returning to these properties with a new studio. McCraken is expected to be the creator, producer and director of both shows, according to the report.

The Powerpuff Girls will return to the original world of the series as the trio of super-powered girls go toe- to-toe with both new and legacy threats. The impact of the 1998 cartoon is still felt even though the show only lasted 78 episodes. There's a live-action remake out there.

The same young audience will be targeted by Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends with a new cast of friends. The show won sevenEmmys for its five-year run, which ran from 2004 to 2009. There is no word on the future of the adventures of Mac and his imaginary friend Bloo, but we might see a brand new cast of heroes and misfits.
