The families and survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks criticized former President Donald Trump for hosting a tournament for the Saudi-funded LIV golf league at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
In a letter dated Sunday, 9/11 Justice expressed deep pain and anger over Trump hosting the tournament. There were a number of moments in which the former president blamed Saudi Arabia for the attacks.
The group wrote that it was incomprehensible that a former president would cast our loved ones aside for personal financial gain.
Osama Bin Laden was born in Saudi Arabia and was one of the attackers on 9/11. The Saudi government has always denied involvement in the attacks.
The receptionist at Trump National refused to comment on the letter. A request for comment was not responded to.
Trump ripped the PGA Tour in a post on his social network, but didn't mention anything about the 9/11 families' response The tournament will take place at the Bedminster course. The LIV championship tournament is going to be hosted by Trump's Miami course.

Players who joined the tour were suspended. The Tour is being investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice.
There are other Saudi businesses connected to Trump. According to The New York Times, his son-in-law and a former White House advisor secured a $2 billion investment from the Saudis.
The LIV tournament was hosted at the Pumpkin Ridge course. The team championship will be hosted at Trump's Doral course in Miami.
