Images of a cheaper plastic version of the Surface Duo 2 have appeared on eBay. According to Windows Central, a cheaper version of the Surface Duo 2 was canceled by Microsoft after it was rumored that it would be a mid-range model.
The leaked images show that the device would have shipped with a rounded design, a plastic finish, and a small camerabump. The form factor of the Surface Duo 2 was being changed by Microsoft to make it a cheaper model.
The changes would have included a more mid-range processor, a dual-camera array on the rear, and a plastic exterior. It could have been called the "Surface Duo Go", according to Windows Central. Surface Duo photos have leaked before, with images appearing online ahead of the Surface Duo 2 launch last year.
Instead of shipping the more expensive Surface Duo 2 later this year, Microsoft is working on bringing the cheaper Surface Duo 2 to existing Surface Duo 2 devices. According to Windows Central, the next Surface Duo flagship won't arrive until later in the decade.
Microsoft's Surface Duo 2 launched with a steep price tag and a laundry list of bugs and issues, but the software maker has been slowly improving the device. The Surface Duo 2 has gotten a lot better since it was released, and is now one of my favorites.
