Zlatan Ibrahimsson has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at AC Milan until he is 41.
He had knee surgery in May and was expected to be out for eight months.
He said at the end of the campaign that he had been sleeping for six months because of the pain.
AC Milan won the league title in 2020 thanks to the return of the former Manchester United and Paris St-Germain forward.
When Milan last won the Scudetto, Ibrahimsson joined on loan from Barcelona and scored 14 league goals in 29 appearances to fire them to the title.
He left for Paris St-Germain at the end of the 2012 season, after signing a permanent deal.

The Real Betis captain signed a one-year extension to stay at the club.
