The person is amazing. She has done it five times in the 100m, which is the most difficult event to repeat as champion.

She won her first 100m world title in 2009, and has been around for a long time. She has lived in the shadow of someone.

Both of them won their first gold medals in the same year. She's still going, she's had a child, come back, and run faster than ever.

In an event that is so difficult, her longevity and consistency is amazing.

She didn't include the world record on her resume. If she broke the world record, you could argue that she's had a better career than Bolt.

The final was up to expectations. Everyone had different opinions on who was going to win, so it was a good build-up.

All of the opinions were that it would be a Jamaican.

It is so competitive that everyone has a different opinion of who is going to win. The Bolt days were a time when everyone knew he was going to win, but it was just a matter of whether he broke a record or not.

Track and field is all about the competitiveness at the end of the day.

The other narrative was if someone like Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith or Marie-Josee Ta Lou could ruin the party, but as it went through the rounds, it looked less likely.

I agree with Asher- Smith that this is the golden age of women's sprinting.

The greatest two female sprinters of all time are Fraser-Pryce and Thompson-Herah.

Jackson has run 10.77 this year, and the Americans have also run fast times. It is an amazing time in women's sprinting, but they weren't able to repeat those times.

This wasn't Asher-Smith's time - but maybe it will come

Three years ago, Asher-Smith won the silver medal in the 100m and had high expectations of herself, but she still matched her personal best so you can't ask for more.

She is running in a golden era and that puts her under a lot of pressure. She can run a personal best and the others don't have to, but she could still not get on the podium.

She is up against a quality that happened in Eugene.

Maybe it will come at some point.

The same thing will happen in the 200m on Monday. When Asher- Smith won the 200m world title, some of the best female sprinters didn't show up, which opened up some space.

I talked to Fraser-Pryce and she said she's definitely running the 200m. She knows that people are running fast but she can also run fast.

It's going to be very competitive because Jackson was disappointed with her 200m performance at the Olympics and will want to get a medal or win that event as well.

I think that the American is in a good position. I think she can get a medal if she can get over her college fatigue.

Crowds 'getting better' despite poor US promotion

Despite the World Championships being the biggest track and field event to be held in the US since the 1996 Olympics, coverage in the US has been poor.

I was not impressed by the small crowd at the beginning but it has gotten better over the last two days. The first day wasn't very strong.

The lack of promotion is hurting the event and the lack of planning is disappointing.

It has improved.
