Sergio Garcia intends to quit DP World Tour (0:45)

After joining the LIV Golf Series,Sergio said he wasn't feeling appreciated on the European circuit. There is a time and a place for this.

After joining the Saudi-funded LIV Golf series, the former Masters champion said that he no longer felt loved on the European circuit.

If he quits the World Tour, he won't be allowed to play in the future of the Cup.

I know what I'm going to do with the European circuit. The Spaniard told Spanish reporters after the Open that he probably would leave it. Right now in the European Tour, I am not feeling loved.

I'm very happy with what I've accomplished and I'm going to try to enjoy it. I will spend more time at my house. If I can't play any more major, that's the way it is, but it's not something I really care about. I am sad that I won't be a part of the team, but I am not playing well at the moment.

The players who have jumped ship to the independent circuit bankrolled by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund have been harshly criticized by Thomas Bjorn.

Critics say the new series is blatant sportswashing by a nation trying to improve its reputation.

When Thomas Bjorn came to the BMW Championship, he told us that he didn't like any of us. "I already have an age and had enough suffering to endure nonsense like that." That is not nice. I have given so much of my life to the European Tour that I am not going to be left out.

It is sad to receive such treatment. My resignation is not official but I will make it work. I have what I need and I want to enjoy it as much as possible. I will not play as much as I would like.
