A woman in Denver took to TikTok to share her $20,000 pay increase at a new job, but she was eventually fired after the company found her videos.
Lexi posted a video on TikTok saying her salary had gone from $70,000 to $90,000 after she got a job in the tech industry. She covered her spending habits in Denver and how she got a new job on her platform.
After her company found her TikTok account, she deleted videos in order to not anger her bosses. The National Labor Relations Act protects her right to discuss her salary but she decided to take them down.
Her supervisor talked to her about the account.
She said in a video that the company didn't like her videos about her salary. She said that superiors told her "no" when she asked if she had posted any videos that violated security measures.
"TikTok cost me my job, which was two weeks after I was hired," she said in a video announcing her dismissal. After talking to me about my account, they fired me because they said it was a security concern.
