A week after his 14th birthday, Jackson Cantwell sat down to take the test that would allow him to enroll in high school.
It would be fun to study for the test, which is given to junior and senior high school students as they prepare for college applications. He took online courses in order to get ready for it.
He earned a 33 and was placed in the 98th percentile of recent high school graduates.
He did not complete the math portion.
"I think a little differently about school than most people do," he said. I enjoy it a lot. I don't know why I enjoy school so much, but whenever I'm interested in something, I'll study it.
One of the more impressive incoming freshmen you'll ever hear about is Cantwell, because of its high test score.
The 14-year-old is going to be on the football team at the high school. His parents were Olympians and he owns track and field world records.
Although he has never played a game of high school athletics, he is grabbing attention as a high-level football prospect. He's going to be an offensive tackle on the football team, a potential star on the basketball court and will continue to shine during his track and field events as his parents did before him.
The Eagles head coach said it was amazing. His parents have put a work ethic in him to where he likes to work out and get stronger because he has been blessed with genes from his height. Everybody doesn't have that, but he likes to be better than he was the day before.
There are a lot of football players in southwest Missouri this summer.
The son of a former USA Olympian is called Cantwell. Christian Cantwell won a silver medal in the shot put at the 2008 Beijing games and in 2004, he had the top four shot put throws in the world. She was a two-time NCAA shot put champion and competed in the 2000Sydney games.
Two weeks before his due date, Jackson was born at 11 pounds, 2 ounces. He towered over everyone at a recent football practice. He is taller than the average offensive linemen.
Jackson ran a 40 yard dash in just over five seconds at the recent combine. He had the second- biggest hands at the event. Jackson benched three times in a video that was posted on the internet. Jackson's dad thinks he could get to a point where he maxed out.
Christian Cantwell doesn't want to call someone a natural because he works hard at it. He has a gift that's certain. It's easy to notice. His mom was also strong. I'm just as surprised as everyone else that there is a genetic component to it.
Jackson was going to be different from everyone else. He remembered that Jackson benched 85 pounds when he was five or six years old.
Jackson's work ethic and love for it led to international accomplishments. He is a world record holder in the shot put and discus for young people. Jackson is expected to be able to throw a shot put 70 feet, which would be a world record for 14-year-olds, and beat the state record by more than three feet.
The best high school football players in the region in the year 2021.
Jackson has made a name for himself because of his work ethic and also because of the amount of food he eats.
A lot of food.
Jackson eats a lot of Subway footlongs, steaks, burgers, and chicken along with rice. His father will buy him a large pizza on the way home from work if he doesn't eat anything else.
"Especially with inflation, I'm like'my gosh, this grocery bill has been killing me recently'," she said.
He works hard at every job. He will achieve his goal if he has one.
NBA player Anthony Tolliver has a scholarship in his mother's name.
He sets his mind to goals in the weight room. He wants to beat all of his mother's records and one day beat his father's bench press. It wouldn't happen, said Christian Cantwell.
Jackson said that it would be difficult to beat it. I would love to be able to do that because he still believes he will be better than me. A little motivation is what it is. It's not bad since I'm a freshman in high school. I'm a long way off from where I want to be.
Christian laughed out loud, so the mama bear in me knew he was going to do it. It will be very difficult, but you never know.
Jackson is a thinker. He wants to be a college athlete, but he's not sure which sport to play. Which ever sport is in season is his favorite.
Jackson had a plan for his future during the last semester of his eighth- grade year. He plans to take advanced placement classes throughout the next four years, since he was in the honors class at the high school.
The Eagles fought despite the fact that Nixa was never fully healthy.
He began to teach his parents the different sections of the test when he was studying for it. He didn't finish the math portion of the test because he took his time on each answer and still scored a 31 on the section.
He said he didn't think he did very well when he left. He did a good job.
Jackson's motivation won't be a problem for the Cantwells. They say that their son is his own harshest critic and it will only lead to him getting stronger in the weight room and better on the football field as he progresses.
Jackson can't do anything in the sky. He will eventually want to do something.
Christian said he wanted to see his son succeed at whatever he wanted to do. I didn't think he would be as good as he is. He was good at it, but not like he jumped out of the womb. It has been great to see the things he has done.
I believe he's just scratching the surface. I definitely do.
JohnPerry is the head football coach.
When he talked to his college friends about future prospects, Cantwell was thrown around.
He sees growth in Cantwell even though he is raw in the sport. Until he joined the high school team, football might have been the fourth or fifth priority in athletics.
The incoming freshman was brought with the offensive linemen to compete against the sophomores. On the first day, Cantwell struggled because it wasn't something he'd done before.
"If I want to be a classical pianist, I have to start playing the piano today, I'm not going to be very good today, and I'm not going to be very good tomorrow, and I'm not going to be very good in a week," he said I could be great if I put in the time. He has not done it in football. He is a very different person because of the type of person he is, his intelligence and the way he carries himself.
On the second day of the camp, Cantwell had figured it out, according to the man. The sophomore age group championship was won by Cantwell during the day.
When he gets it, he's going to have it and we're going to have a special player. We don't want to rush him to the point of that. He will be allowed to grow as a football player. We will discuss that when he is ready to play.
The basketball coach is RobYanders.
The boys basketball team is coming off a runner-up finish in the state and Cantwell expects to play with them. That's where he should be, according to his coach.
It will be a matter of what sport he chooses to play down the line, according toYanders. He chuckled at a photo of the basketball team as he towered over the rest. He resembled a man among boys.
People may think he's not athletic but he's quick off his feet. He is a force to be feared with. He can add to his game by stepping out on a perimeter and pushing the ball up the floor until the guard catches it. To help him add to his game as much as possible, our deal was to help him. He's smart and receptive.
Brock Blansit was going to build with Cantwell as he took over the program. The nephew ofYanders was the starting point guard for the team as a freshman.
He'll come in and play right away. He's a kid that would definitely be in a rotation for their program. It would be difficult to not play a kid with those skills.
