Bale keen to 'grow game around the world'

Bale made his MLS debut in the 72nd minute as a substitute for Los Angeles FC.

After replacing the scorer, the Wales forward made a backheel pass.

Bale won a free- kick on his 33rd birthday.

Bale said that he wanted to help the team when he got on the bench.

I need to get my fitness going. It was good to get some minutes and get three points at the end of the season.

It was a crucial time to enter the game. It was not one of those places where you have to score goals. We had to keep the ball, run the clock down and be reasonable.

We were able to make it difficult for them. Getting the three points is the most important thing in football.

Bale, who signed for LAFC on a free transfer from Real Madrid, has dismissed the idea that he only went to MLS in order to be fit for Wales at the World Cup.

He said he wasn't coming just to wind down.

I want to contribute as much as I can to this team, try to win games, and just do as much as I can.

I'm excited to get my debut out of the way and I hope I can help the team.

Giorgio Chiellini made his LAFC debut in the game.

Their next game is at Kansas on July 24th before they host Seattle on July 30th.
