Zelenskyy fires his top security chief and prosecutor, citing treason and 'crimes against the foundations of the state's national security'

Hundreds of criminal proceedings were announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his national address on Sunday.

More than 650 criminal proceedings have been registered regarding treason and collaboration activities of employees of prosecutors' offices. More than 60 employees of the prosecutor's office and the security service of Ukranian remain in the occupied territory and are working against the state.

Zelenskyy said that on Sunday he dismissed the Prosecutor General, Iryna Venediktova, from her position and fired the head of the Security Service of Ukranian.

The connections between the employees of the security forces of Ukraine and the special services of Russia pose very serious questions to the leadership. There will be a proper answer to each question.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in August of last year. According to the United Nations, more than 10,000 people have been killed by Russian missiles in populated areas of Ukranian.

Zelenskyy said that members of the Ukrainian security services and law enforcement offices shared secret information with invading forces.

Zelenskyy thanked everyone who took part in the operation. It can be referred to as self-purification.
