A woman in Denver took to TikTok to share her $20,000 pay increase at a new job, but she was fired after the company found her videos.

Lexi's salary went from $70,000 to $90,000 after she landed a job in the tech industry. She covered her spending habits in Denver and how she got a new job on her platform.

After her company discovered her TikTok account, she deleted videos to avoid angering her boss. The National Labor Relations Act protects her right to talk about her salary, but she decided to take them down.

Her supervisor talked to her about the account.

She said in a video that the company didn't like her videos about her salary. She asked the company if she'd posted any videos that violated security measures, but they were unwilling to take that risk.

"After they talked to me about my TikTok account, they ended up firing me because they said I had this," she said in the video.

Bennitta Joseph is a partner at the law firm Joseph & Norinsberg.

Joseph told USA Today that a company has a lot of interest in making sure they don't engage in discrimination. It could be grounds for firing if they find out that you are doing any of these.

After calling her former manager in tears over her firing, she decided to return to her old job as an account manager.

The video has been viewed over 1 million times.
