The security company said that jewelry and gems worth up to $10 million were stolen from an armored truck in Los Angeles last week.
The merchandise was loaded onto a Brink's truck from an event hosted by the International Gem and Jewelry Show. She said the truck was going to another exhibit at the convention center in Pasadena.
A spokeswoman for Brink's said that the merchandise was taken from the truck near Los Angeles early on Monday.
Several gold and diamond necklaces were among the stolen merchandise. It was not clear how much was taken.
The total value of what was stolen is estimated by one of the jewelers to be between $20 million and $50 million. She said it was less than 10 million dollars.

Brink's was not being transparent with the jewelry owners and there were many unanswered questions about the loss.
The authorities and Brink's didn't give any details about where the theft occurred or who was injured.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is working with the local authorities, but can't give more information. Brink's said the episode was a loss incident.
