'Evil cannot win': Killed by Russian missile, Liza is buried

An Orthodox priest broke down in tears as he told Liza's relatives that evil cannot win.

Liza, who had Down Syndrome, was on her way to see a speech therapist when Russian missiles hit the city of Vinnytsia. More than 200 people were wounded, including Liza's mother, and 24 people were killed.

The tears flowed down the face of Artem Dmytriev.

Iryna Dmytrieva was in an intensive care unit. She was not told that Liza was going to be buried on Sunday.

Dmytryshyna said that her mom didn't know how beautiful she was.

Liza's mother invested a lot of effort in socializing Liza.

The mother wanted her child to have a full life.

When the war began, Dmytrieva and her family fled from the capital of the country, Kyiv, to the city of Vinnytsia, which was considered relatively safe.

Shortly before the explosion, Dmytrieva had posted a video on social media showing her daughter trying to reach the handlebars to push her stroller, while wearing a denim jacket and white pants.

Photographs of her lifeless body on the ground next to her stroller were shared by the emergency services. The little girl was happy when she met the Ukrainian first lady. Videos and photos from the war in Ukraine have gone viral.

Liza's family sat on both sides of the coffin, and many more people crowded the cathedral to pay their respects.

Orthodox priest Vitalii Holoskevych cried as he said that no person could go through this with calm. Our brothers and sisters are leaving us.

He said that evil can't win.

Friends and relatives bid farewell to Liza at the cemetery.
