A potential blockbuster bout with Gervonta "Tank" Davis is set up by Ryan's statement win. There is a time and a place.

12:22 AM ET

In a 140-pound bout in Los Angeles on Saturday, Ryan Garcia knocked out his opponent in the sixth round.

The star floored his opponent in the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds. The first knockdown came from a body shot and followed by two hooks.

The referee's 10 count on one knee ended the fight 27 seconds into the sixth round.

I knew that I was sharp. I know how good of a fighter I am and I just had to put it all together. The fight spoke for itself. I box better when I face tougher punchers. It doesn't take much to hurt someone.

His last two fights have been at 140, a weight he said he is much more comfortable at.

"I will fight Gervonta Davis next, but I'm not going back down to 135 for nothing," said the fighter. Let's get it if Tank wants it at 140.

In June of last year, Davis defeated Mario Barrios with an 11th-round knockout at juniorwelterweight.

One of the biggest commercial events boxing can deliver is a fight between Davis andGarcia. Davis is aligned with the boxing organization and fights on the pay TV network.

He plans to fight December, and it's apparent that he's getting better after a tumultuous year.

Last July, after a career-best victory over Luke Campbell, he withdrew from a fight with Fortuna due to his mental health issues. The fight with Joseph Diaz was canceled after he had wrist surgery.

He came back in April to beat Tagoe, but there wasn't a lot of action in the fight.

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican had no problems against the Dominican. Every time he touched him, he inflicted damage. He was a lot quicker than Fortuna. He kept his opponent at the end of his jab.

When he did throw a punch, the shots didn't always meet the mark. By the end of the match, the right eye of Fortuna was swollen. It was the second time in three fights that Fortuna had lost.

I was told that I was a guy who didn't care about boxing or mental health.

He said it was not weakness. It's strong. Courage is what it is.

With a second fight under the guidance of Joe Goossen, he should be prepared for any of the best fighters at his new weight class.

The big fights need to start. I'm pretty sure that's not possible, let's be honest." That guy is big as well. We're not going to be at 135.
