The New York Yankees will be without their starting pitcher.

The manager told reporters before the game that his ace wouldn't throw for two weeks.

The injury happened during his last start. He gave up four hits and four runs and was taken out of the game.

According to Greg Joyce of the New York Post, Severino missed five months due to a lat strain.

Over the course of 16 starts over the course of the next two years, Severino has gone 5-5 with a 3.45ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 95 strikeouts.

He is a full-time starter for the first time in three years. The two-time All-Star has had injuries in the past.

He missed all of 2020 because of Tommy John surgery. He joined the bullpen for the rest of the season after a groin strain in the middle of the year.
