As part of the brand's "Undeniable Character" program, R.M. Williams has tapped Marc Newson for the launch of the Yard Boot 365. Newson reinterprets the classic Gardener Boot, which was first introduced in the 1950's by the Australian footwear label. Called the "ultimate hardwearing work boot" at the time, it was designed to hold up in mud, water and sand. The new Yard Boot 365 focuses on durability and quality like its predecessor, yet is designed for the modern-day worker to have a footwear option that is both long-lasting and stylish.

Made from a single piece of leather, the boot boasts a fully-engineered elastic gusset, Poron padding and a full leather sock lining. A smooth rubber sole contrasts with a textured upper made out of greasy Kip leather, soft Italian leather or suede. Maintaining a sleek, timeless aesthetic, the boot pairs "Marc's design sensibility" with "R.M. Williams' blend of rugged elegance." Designed for both men and women, the boot is available in six colorways: black, "Olive," "Off-White," "Quartz," "Walnut" and "Indigo."

On the boot's new design, Marc Newson says:

"The new Yard Boot 365 is a product which is I hope both modern yet communicates the values and craftsmanship of RM Williams. It is always very important for me to integrate the DNA associated with the brand I am working with and incorporate it in the design. It is not about re-inventing the wheel but respecting the DNA of the brand. There had to be a certain character, something about the new boot to make it different enough to appeal to a new audience as well as to the faithful."

The collaborative Yard Boot 365 boot is available now on R.M. Williams' website for $345 USD.

Elsewhere, Thom Browne released a black calfskin leather hiking boot, one of the most luxe boot offerings of the season.
