The House committee investigating the Capitol riot heard testimony from a former CEO on Friday.

The person who entered the conference room was an ally of the former president. CNN reported that the person was taking an hour long break.

CNN said that he spoke to his lawyer after taking short breaks from giving testimony. CNN said that the testimony was recorded and transcribed.

The committee wanted to know about the meeting he had with Trump's inner circle.

The New York Times reported that during the meeting, Michael Flynn, a former national security advisor under Trump, and Sidney Powell, one of Trump's personal attorneys, discussed how to overturn the 2020 election.

The meeting got so heated that aides could hear screaming in the hallway.

The committee is interested in the meeting because of a message Trump sent the day before. There was a big protest in D.C. Be there and you will be crazy!

After releasing a statement referencing the "Deep State" conspiracy theory, the founder of Overstock resigned as CEO. He said that he was in a relationship with Maria Butina, the Russian woman who was charged with acting as an agent of a foreign government.

There were false claims that Trump won the 2020 election. He urged Trump to find evidence of foreign interference in the election to get the authority to order a recount.
