  • During a recent episode, Robert Iler shared a touching recollection of Tony.

  • The young actor was offered protection on set and off by his costar.

  • You should tell Uncle Tony if anyone ever bothered you. Iler remembered that he was told.

"The Sopranos" star Robert Iler shared a sweet memory about his co-star Tony Sirico.

Iler, who played Tony Soprano's son on the hit show, was never worried about being preyed on or bullied.

If there were people looking at me in the wrong way, Tony Sirico would just stand there and not do anything. Iler recalled on a recent episode of Pod Yourself a Gun.

The actor said that one day, Iler was told that he was looking out for him in the film.

If anyone ever says anything to you, please tell Uncle Tony. Iler remembered that he was told.

Iler got confidence off set when he dealt with other kids at school. Iler said that he remembered thinking, "Oh, this kid thinks he's going to mouth off to me?" I'm going to have Tony come down.

"No matter how old you are, you see someone that has black hair here, and silver hair on the sides, and just the way he always had a handkerchief in his pocket," Iler said.

"The Sopranos" featured a charismatic and neurotic mobster named Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri. The actor was posthumously honored on social media.
