Setting up an Amazon Family ensures multiple adults can access all these features while keeping their own separate purchase history and notification emails, which is useful if you want to keep your own purchases.

If you decide to leave your household, there's a 180-day period in which neither adult can join other households. It's a great perk for Prime members to be able to setup quickly and easily.

The teen and child accounts are perks. A teen account ensures your teen can log into Prime Video and Prime Music, but to actually make purchases, they'll submit a request that an adult will have to approve before. A child membership does not allow for purchases.
