Fans of the Texas Longhorns might be waiting a while to see Manning play. Manning will be redshirting his freshman season, according to Vince Young.
I think Arch has a good chance. I am told that he is going to redshirt. It will help you understand how to travel with the team and the fans. I redshirted when I had those types of things and I took a year off. I think that the redshirt year helped me understand how to be a quarterback at the University of Texas and what it was like to travel and things like that.
If he does that, I think it would be good for him to sit back and learn and get familiar with the offense. I hope that will help him for the future.
Manning made his commitment to Texas on June 23, picking the Longhorns over some of the top programs in the country.

He could get a better understanding of the Texas offense if he were to redshirt his freshman year. It could benefit him in the long run, especially if he's the starting quarterback when the Longhorns move to the SEC.
Manning is a 5-star recruit out of Isidore Newman School in New Orleans and the top-ranked prospect in the 2023 class. The quarterback has some of the best qualities.
His presence and ability to extend plays with his feet appear to be good. As a runner, he needs to respect him in down and distance areas. His feet are clean in the pocket and he is quick with his feet.
The ability to make every throw on the field within the pocket is displayed by the man. The ability to drive the ball down the field is shown in the video. The ability to consistently deliver the ball accurately and on time is displayed as an intermediate passer. He throws a deep ball that allows him to throw his receiver open.
Manning's 5-star status is due to his family, according to Mike Farrell. Archie Manning and his nephew, Eli Manning, both played in the National Football League while Archie's father, Cooper, was a star wide receiver at Ole Miss before his career was cut short by a spine condition.
Farrell thinks Arch Smith would be a high 3-star quarterback. He doesn't play a lot of competition. He has yet to progress. He had a great freshman year. He hasn't progressed but he hasn't regression. He has had to step up against other competition and it hasn't translated.
Manning threw for 2,437 yards and 34 touchdown in 10 games as a freshman. He also scored four times. He ran for 381 yards and seven scores and threw for 1,970 yards and 26 touchdown against four turnovers as a junior.
We don't know how successful Manning will be until he starts playing football. He is a top-notch prospect and is worth keeping an eye on.
