The right to travel freely from state to state to seek abortion care was blocked in the Senate on Thursday.

He objected to a unanimous consent request from the senator and dismissed it as unnecessary.

He said on the Senate floor that there was no ban on interstate travel for adult women seeking an abortion.

The Freedom to Travel for Health Care Act would clarify the right to cross state lines to get health care. Civil lawsuits would be brought against anyone who tried to restrict that right.

The Supreme Court justice wrote that the "constitutional right to interstate travel" would not be affected by the ruling that abortion is now illegal in some states.

The U.S. Constitution does not specifically mention the word travel. Under the First, Fifth, and 14th Amendments, it is a right. There is only one person on this front. The other justices in the majority did not join his concurring.

Democrats and reproductive rights groups fear that Republican-controlled states will use this gap to restrict travel and criminalize cross-state travel to get abortion care. In some states, anti-abortion groups and GOP lawmakers want to go there.

The doctor who helped the rape victim cross state lines to have an abortion will be investigated by the attorney general.

Conservatives have threatened employers who plan to cover their employees travel expenses for out-of-state abortions, either with criminal liability or by stripping their tax breaks. Dozens of major companies have agreed to do so.

It is critical that we protect women and give them the right to travel for critical reproductive health care to states like Nevada, we're also protecting providers as well as those large companies and employers who want to assist women to receive this reproductive care," she said.

Republicans downplayed the threat to abortion before the Supreme Court struck it down and who are likely to support a national ban on abortion if it comes before the Senate.

The bill is in search of a problem, according to Senator Roger Marshall.

Cornyn said that it was already protected in the constitution.

He isn't sure.

When anti-choice legislators and groups are trying to stop them from doing so, this is a form of gaslighting to keep insist that American women will be able to get care.

The legislation would protect the greed of corporations who have pledged to cover travel costs for their employees, according to Sen. Steve Daines.

The legislation is expected to be passed by the House. It is not clear when Democrats in the Senate will attempt to pass the bill via recorded vote. The Democrats are trying to pass a domestic spending bill and boost the Semiconductor industry.
