Spencer's death occurred on Wednesday at the age of 22.

According to a report from the Lane County Sheriff's Office, paramedics responded to the report of an accident involving an unnamed 22-year-old who slipped and fell at Triangle Lake in Oregon. They couldn't resuscitate him.

Dan Lanning, the head coach of the University of Oregon, confirmed the death of the person in the accident.

There was no evidence of foul play and the death appears to have been accidental, according to the sheriff's office.

The University of Oregon players, alumni and administrators posted messages on the social networking site.

He was a 4-star prospect when he was a junior at Christian Brothers. After redshirting in his first year, he played regularly the following year.

He set career highs with three touchdown catches. During the COVID-19 shortened season in 2020, he played in thePac-12 Championship Game against USC.

He made his first career touchdown catch in the second quarter of the opener against auburn.

He appeared in a career-high 11 games last year. The California had a touchdown on 13 catches.

During his time at the University of Oregon, he was mostly used as a blocker.
