The New JerseyDevils have agreed to terms with Ondrej Palat, a veteran of the Stanley Cup Final.
According to a source, the New JerseyDevils landed Palat on a five-year deal with an average annual value of $6 million
During his 10-year career with the Lightning, Palat scored 140 goals and 280 assists. He plays both wings as well as up and down the lineup and thrives with high-end skill players.
He has been outstanding in the playoffs. During the back-to-back Stanley Cup victories, Palat had 31 points. He had 21 points in 23 games for them when they lost in the Stanley Cup Final.
In the past decade, the team has made the playoffs once and not since.
There are only three forwards over 30 on the current roster.
One of the teams that lost out on Johnny Gaudreau was the New JerseyDevils, as the former Flames forward chose to sign with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
