The company will be renamed Nintendo Pictures when it is bought by Nintendo.

Nintendo has agreed to buy 100 percent of outstanding shares of Tokyo-based Dynamo Pictures so that it can own it completely. If all conditions are met, the deal will close in October.

In the past five years, the company has worked on movies, TV, and games such as Monster Hunter: World and Final Fantasy XIII-2.

The Nintendo group's planning and production structure would be strengthened by the acquisition. Nintendo's results for this fiscal year will only be affected by the purchase of Dynamo.

The "Nintendo Studios" was listed on the U.S. Copyright Office website in June, but it's not clear what the acquisition means for Nintendo. It doesn't appear that this has anything to do with Super Mario Bros.
