The luxury Conrad brand was going to be coming to California in 2022. As of this month, this hotel is open, so I want to recap all the details of the new points option.

The Conrad Los Angeles is located at The Grand LA. There are over 300 guest rooms at the hotel in Los Angeles.

The Conrad has an elevated indoor and outdoor lobby with views of the Disney Concert Hall, a 16,000 square foot rooftop terrace, a 7,000 square foot spa with seven treatment rooms, a gym, several dining outlets, and 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The dining outlets are in partnership with a well-known chef.

  • San Laurel is the 10th floor restaurant that’s described as offering Spanish flavors through a California lens
  • Agua Viva is also on the 10th floor, and is a rooftop restaurant with Latin and Asian flavors
  • SED is a cocktail bar that also serves snacks, with presentation that’s described as entertainment in and of itself
  • Airlight is a rooftop bar on the pool deck with cocktails and shareable snacks

The Grand LA is a new billion dollar mixed-use development. There is 176,000 square feet of retail and dining space, more than 400 residences, and a public plaza.

How much does the Conrad Los Angeles cost? It's pretty steep. For most of the year, rates start at $600 per night and can go as high as $1,000 per night. Hotel rates have gone up since the start of the Pandemic, that's reflected in that.

When it comes to luxury hotels in the LA area, Hilton is doing very well. The company has a new Conrad in Los Angeles.

There are pros and cons to downtown, and there is no denying that the area has improved over the years. It is not where I prefer to stay, but this is a good option for those who are in the area.

The Park Hyatt opening in downtown Los Angeles has had serious issues. There is no end in sight to the construction of Oceanwide Plaza, which was announced in 2016 but has not yet been completed.

The Chinese company behind the project couldn't maintain enough capital due to late payments and liens. If the Park Hyatt Los Angeles opens, it will take at least a couple of years to open.

There is a new hotel in Los Angeles. The hotel is in a new development. This is a nice addition to the portfolio of hotels, as they now have properties in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.
