The company has credits on a number of titles, including motion capture work on Death Stranding and Persona 5.

Nintendo is getting ready for the most significant cinematic release in years, an animated movie based on Super Mario Bros. The film will be released in the spring of next year, almost thirty years after Super Mario Bros. was released. There was a live action adaption of Detective Pikachu.

As Nintendo gears up for the release of the Super Mario movie

Video games are being turned into movies and TV shows. A TV show based on The Last of Us and an animated film based on Sonic the Hedgehog are currently in production. At a recent investor day, Sony indicated that it wants to expand its intellectual property beyond video games.

Nintendo will acquire 100 percent of the outstanding shares of Dynamo Pictures, which will become a subsidiary of the video game company, according to a notice to shareholders. The acquisition is expected to be completed on October 3rd.
