Semen test kit for home use.
Hormonal healthcare affects the most intimate parts of our lives. A combination of at- home diagnostic tests, including semen tests and tests for polycystic ovary syndrome, would make it accessible to more people.
The Bangalore based startup, which has ambitions to expand into global markets, has raised a $3.25 million seed round from investors.
The product lines are Kindly His and Kindly Hers. A test that can help women diagnose and manage polycystic ovarian syndrome will be launched by Kindly Hers. It sells lab work for STD diagnoses. Users can take the test at home and have it sent to a test center for a diagnosis.
Nilay Mehrotra founded the company in 2020. According to Mehrotra, before taking part in Y Combinator's winter cohort, Kindly was focused on fertility, specifically building a B2B tool for IVF clinics that would assist them in selecting the right embryo.
He said that the problem was much bigger and that they needed to focus on lifestyle disorders. semen testing and diagnostics had a larger use case than just fertility and we didn't want to limit ourselves to that.
The company expects to reach $1 million in revenue at the end of the year after experiencing 30% revenue growth over the last month.
The market opportunity in India for lifestyle disorders, sexual performance and hormonal wellbeing is $8 billion, according to the startup.
In the future, Kindly will expand its product portfolio and focus on more health related topics. The company plans to launch an app in the next few months.
Hormonal health is a massive opportunity: Where are the unicorns?
