The CEO of both companies said in June that he would likely back the congressman if he ran for president.

Musk's political support was welcomed by DeSantis, who hasn't confirmed a presidential run.

Musk said that Donald Trump's age would make him less effective as America's executive leader if he were to be re-elected.

Musk said that Trump would be too old to be the leader of the United States of America.

He encouraged Trump to "hang up his hat and sail into the sunset" on Tuesday. Musk responded to a clip of Trump calling him a "bullshit artist" for withdrawing from his deal to buy Twitter.

There was a renewed war of words this week.

While he was in the White House, Trump claimed, he could have made Musk beg for his help.

He claimed that Musk's companies build electric cars that don't drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere.

Musk posted a picture of an elderly "Simpsons" character yelling and screaming out a window in response to Trump's comments.

The CEO wrote a letter.
