Taika Waititi wasn't sold on the idea of RussellCrowe speaking with a Greek accent to play Zeus in the movie.

Waititi told Insider thatCrowe did all his scenes with Greek and British accents.

He talked about the accent for a long time. Is it going to be a farce if someone says a Greek accent? Is it too silly?

The camp of doing the god with a Greek accent was led byCrowe. Waititi was able to come up with a solution.

He said that they did two different takes with Russell. One had a British accent and the other a Greek one. I thought Zeus would sound like a British actor in the movie. The 1981 movie was based on the Greek myth of Zeus.

It was time to make a decision after the production finished. Waititi realized something when he saw that.

Zeus sounds like he's British to the Greeks. The Greeks loved the accent. I'm very pleased with it. I couldn't make up my mind and he had to do every take with both British and Greek accents. Russell was correct all the time.
