The upgraded chip for the Wear OS watches could finally be obtained. In a video posted to the social networking site, the company teased the possibility of a new chip.

After the Wear OS 3 collaboration was announced, Qualcomm said it would release a new chip within a year. We don't know when it will launch, but it looks like it's following through. It's possible that it will be used in the upcomingPixel Watch.

There are a number of Wear OS watches powered by the chip. The Wear 4100 series, its most recent one, was only included in a few watches. Two years have passed since the initial launch of the 4100, and Wear OS watches are due for an upgrade.

According to rumors, the 5100 and 5100 Plus will be built on the 4 nanometer process. In comparison to the Apple Watch Series 7 chip, the smaller form factor could translate to better battery life and efficiency. This would be a huge change from the Wear 4100 and 4100 Plus processes.
