Hundreds of women are accusing drivers on the platform of sexual assault.

According to the complaint, women passengers in multiple states were kidnapped, sexually assaults, sexually battered, raped, or otherwise attacked by their drivers.

The case was filed in the county court. The law firm said it has over 500 clients with claims against the company.

The law firm claimed in a press that sexual predators driving for the company have continued to attack passengers despite the fact that they were aware of the assaults.

CNBC had a request for comment from an employee of the ride hailing service.

The company released its second safety report two weeks ago.

The most severe categories of sexual assault in the next two years include non-consensual kissing of a non-sexual body part and rape.

The number of reported sexual assaults decreased from the initial report. There was a reduction in the number of riders during the Covid-19 epidemic.

The company has acknowledged the crisis of sexual assault in the past, but its response has been slow and inadequate, according to a statement from a founding partner.

Screening drivers when they sign up on the platform and once a year after that are some of the safety options that have been introduced by the company. The company maintains that it can't be held responsible for drivers who are independent contractors.
