Finebaum: SEC, Big Ten actively changing landscape of college football (2:26)

The college football landscape is being affected by mega conferences. There is a time and a place for it.

3:14 PM ET

"Don't let the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners continue to participate in the league's business meetings," said Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy.

Gundy said he was surprised that the Longhorns and Sooners were still involved in the Big 12.

Gundy told reporters shortly after his remarks on stage that it was interesting. Both Texas and OU are at the conference meetings. They are in the conference. When they're in the SEC, I think they're trying to figure out ways to help them. It is not normal. Nowadays people say, 'It is what it is.' They might not have allowed them in meetings a decade ago.

If I was the new commissioner, I wouldn't allow Texas and OU to attend any meetings.

He said that Yormark was a perfect fit for what college football is today. He compared Yormark's situation to that of corporations when someone leaves for a competitor.

Gundy said that was a joke. I don't want someone from their company in my company if you're in a business meeting.

Gundy said in his opening remarks that he doesn't think there will be a Bedlam rivalry in football after the Sooners leave the conference.

There is a year or two left for Bedlam. That's the future of Bedlam, based on someone else's decisions.

With the two schools being in different conferences, it's not possible to continue the series.

Gundy said it was not feasible. We are scheduled out through 33. I think most conferences will have at least nine conference games once this settles down. It's like playing another conference game if you convince head coaches to play another game. A lot is happening. Most fans want to do it. I don't believe it's doable.

When Gundy said he thought about realignment when he heard the song, he elicited laughs.

If Texas and Oklahoma wanted to leave the Big 12 early, Gundy was fine with that.

If they leave early and dump $80 million our way, that's great.
