On Sunday, World Emoji Day, we will be getting a preview of the emoji that will eventually make their way to the two most popular mobile operating systems. There is a draft list and sample images for the next version of the game. There are only 31 draft emoji this year, which will likely be rolled out in the next two years. Between now and finalization in September, most will make it through the draft. A shaking face and high five are some of the things that could be considered a contender.
If the shaking face is used for shock reactions, it could become the official earthquake emoji. This year we are getting an official version of the Folded Hands symbol. When used together, Rightwards and Leftwards Pushing Hand will act as a way to refuse. If you are asked to do something by your boss, you can innocently claim you are a true professional.
We are also going to get a wireless symbol. The Antenna Bars emoji is the only one that mimics a mobile signal. The Wireless symbol will save people who use the internet. It looks like you will be able to use a pink heart symbol later this year.
New animals and plants are needed for an update to be effective. Animals, birds, and even a Jellyfish are included in Emoji 15. We are getting a moose face, donkey, black bird, and a wing. Pea Pods, ginger, and hyacinth are on the way.
Latin music fans will be happy to hear that the maracas will be used as an icon in the future. If you were forced to play a recorder or flute at a young age, you'll be able to relive those memories.
There are 31 recommended Emojis, which is less than last year's 112 and the 333 recommended in 2020. It's the smallest number of new emojis that have ever been recommended by the company.
The list won't be finalized until September but most draft candidates are accepted. Jay Peters has contributed to the saluting face, bubbles, yawning face, and waffle face. This is where you can read about the process of making emoji.
