Pat Connaughton has agreed on a three-year, $28.6 million extension with a player option, according to his agents.
The total deal is now four years.
He was able to return for the 2022-23 season.
The second-round pick out of Notre Dame became a staple of the team's rotation as the team evolved into a contender.
He had his best season this year, with career highs in points, minutes, and 3-point percentage. After missing a month of the season due to a hand injury, Connaughton came back and helped an injured Milwaukee team advance to the second round of the playoffs.
Over the past two years, Connaughton has become an improved shooter, shooting 45% on corner 3s last season while increasing his 3-point attempts to nearly six per game. He is a strong, versatile defender, standing at 6-foot-5 with a 6 foot-9 wingspan.
