  • According to Mother Jones, Steve Bannon said that Trump wouldn't accept the results if he lost.

  • A recording was published days before the election.

  • The January 6 subpoenas were rejected by Bannon on July 18.

According to the recording obtained by Mother Jones, Steve Bannon said that Trump was going to reject the results of the election even if he lost.

The audio clip was recorded during a meeting between Bannon and his associates on October 31, 2020.

Trump is going to just proclaim victory. Yes, right? He's going to make a statement. "That doesn't mean he's a winner, that's for sure," he said. He is going to say he is a winner.

After the election, "at 10 or 11 o'clock Trump's gonna walk in the Oval, tweet out, 'I'm the winner'", according to the audiotape. The game is done. Suck on that!

Mother Jones shared audio from a meeting between Bannon and supporters of a Chinese businessman who has close ties to the White House. Mother Jones received the audio from the attendee of the meeting. Insider didn't verify the audio.

Insider asked for comment from Bannon's attorneys, but they did not reply.

Further revelations about Trump's rejection of the election results and involvement in his supporters were shared during Tuesday's January 6 Committee hearing.

The committee shared a draft of a statement that Trump was going to make after his speech, where he was going to encourage people to march to the Capitol.

On January 6th, I will be giving a big speech at the Ellipse. Massive crowds are expected. After the march to the capitol. The draft statement was not dated.

After refusing to comply with a subpoena from the January 6 committee, he was indicted by a federal grand jury.

On Monday, a judge ruled that the criminal trial of Steve Bannon should go ahead on July 18.

In an attempt to delay his criminal contempt trial, Bannon's legal team had claimed that Trump's executive privilege barred him from testifying about the events related to January 6 and the election.

After the former president sent a letter saying he'd waive the claim, the legal team for Trump disagreed.

The Department of Justice argued last week that the trial should continue.
