According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Kansas City Chiefs are not close to a long-term contract.

The deadline for players to agree to long-term deals with their current team is Friday at 4 pm There is an hour and a half later.
Brown was the subject of a franchise tag by the Chiefs. He has not signed the tender yet.
The Chiefs have been making offers that are more in line with the top of the right tackle market, while Brown wants to be paid at the top of the left tackle market.
The Baltimore Ravens traded Brown to the Kansas City Chiefs after he moved from right tackle to left tackle in 2020 because he wanted to stay at the position despite being injured.
Brown earned his third consecutive Pro Bowl bid as a left tackle for the Chiefs.
Left and right tackles have different earning potential. San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams and Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari have the highest average annual value of $23 million and $19.2 million, respectively.
