E.J. Liddell will be out for a long time after he tore his knee.

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Las Vegas Summer League team in the third quarter.

After falling to the court holding his leg, he was helped off the court. The injury was initially thought to be a knee injury.

The 21-year-old had to be helped off the court in the second quarter with a knee injury. He didn't seem to be in any pain after returning after halftime.

In two summer league games, he averaged four points, four points, four points and four points.

In the second round of the NBA draft, the New Orleans Pelicans selected Liddell. He averaged 19.4 points, 7.9 rebound, 2.5 assists, and 2.6 blocks in 32 games in his third season with the Ohio State.

Liddell fell out of the first round and Trajan thought he was crazy.

He didn't think E.J. would be there at 41. That was a big deal for us. He put up 2.5 blocks per game this year. He is a physical player, a high level competitor and a high level man.

It is a blow to New Orleans' rookies. Dyson Daniels, the team's first-round pick, was injured on Saturday and it's not clear when he will return.

The Wizards will be the opponent for the summer league team.
