The first of Virgin Atlantic's 16 A330-900neos will arrive soon. We were aware that Virgin Atlantic would be installing a new product on these planes. Virgin Atlantic is giving something better than business class a try.
The onboard product of Virgin Atlantic has been updated recently. The seats in the business class of Virgin Atlantic's planes are pretty old. There is a significant improvement over the old product in Virgin Atlantic's A350s.
The A330-900neo isn't wide enough to fit the A350 business class product, but Virgin Atlantic has come up with some amazing interiors for these jets.
The A330-900neos will have 30 upper class seats. They will be staggered and configured in a 1-2-1 configuration. Delta has a similar product on its A330-900neos.
The seats will have passenger-controlled mood lighting, a 17.3′′ screen TV, mirrors, and wireless charging.
Virgin Atlantic is introducing a product that is better than businessclass. The A330-900neo will have two retreats. The front center of the cabin is home to two exclusive suites that use space that would otherwise be wasted.
These seats will have both fully flat beds and 27′′ touchscreen TVs with wireless charging, as well as a 6'7" fully flat bed. An ottoman that doubles as an extra seat will be included in each of the two suites.
The seats will be sold as an upgrade over the standard seats. They will be available 14 days before departure at a cost of £200 one-way. Anyone who booked an Upper Class ticket should be able to upgrade to these seats.
If you are traveling alone, the Retreat Suites are not ideal because they are only the center seats.
The A330-900neo is one of the only airlines that has social spaces on all of its aircraft. The A330-900 is similar to the A350. There are eight people and four chairs. The fridge and drink dispensers will be self-serving.
Passengers will be able to use the wireless charging facilities here. The second set of exit doors is being utilized by Virgin Atlantic in a creative way.
The A330-900neos will include 46 premium economy seats. There will be 38′′ of pitch and calf rest in the seats. In-seat wireless charging pads will be included in the seats.
The A330-900neos will have 184 seats in a 4-2-2 configuration. Standard seats will have 31′′ of pitch while extra legroom seats will have 34′′. The economy passengers will be able to look forward to 13.3′′ personal televisions.
There will be 16 new A330-900neos delivered by Virgin Atlantic. The first plane is expected to join Virgin Atlantic's fleet in the coming weeks, and should start flying between London Heathrow and Boston as of September 2022, The exact details of that are still unknown. Two more jets should be delivered by the end of the year.
The A330-300s will be replaced by the A330-900neos as they have better fuel economy.
The new A330-900neo cabins are very nice. The narrowness of the A330's fuselage makes it hard for airlines to introduce new products on the plane. Virgin Atlantic has done a great job here.
The A330-900neo cabins include an all new Upper Class, as well as the new Retreat Suite, which will offer a better than business class seat. The A330-900neo will be flying to Boston as of September.
What do you think of the new cabins?
