The Television Academy has never nominated a non-English series for Outstanding Drama. On Tuesday, the organization announced the nominees for the awards in 2022. The runaway hit earned 14 total nominations, including an outstanding lead actor nod for Lee Jung-jae.

Depending on how you want to count the nominations, there are two companies on the list. The group of cable and streaming operations under one umbrella has been a source of controversy within the industry.

Succession was the most nominated show. The show received 25 nominations from the Academy, including nominations for outstanding drama and outstanding actor for Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong. Apple's Ted Lasso received the most nominations of any streaming-exclusive series. Last year, Sudeikis won the best actor award. Apple had a good performance thanks to shows like Ted Lasso. It received 51 nominations, up from 35 the previous year. Jon Stewart, who returned to late-night TV last year with the Problem with Jon Stewart on TV+, was not nominated for an award.

Disney's performance was not perfect. The number of nominations for Only Murders In The Building more than doubled from the previous year. Disney+ only got 34 nominations, a significant decrease from the 71 it got last year. Other streaming platforms were not as good as Disney+. Amazon's Prime Video received 30 nominations, while Paramount+ and Peacock got 11 and three nominations, respectively.
