Speaking to Insider for the show's 20th anniversary, the singer said she met the actor while having dinner with her friends.
No one was talking to her. I had a line at my table and I wasn't sure if Nicole Kidman was right there.
She said that Kidman asked her to come over to her table after she left because she couldn't eat because it was so cold.
She said, "Hey, honey, we're so proud of you." The person remembered. We saw you on the show. You should invest in security.
The actress said that people don't relate to her in that way because they just saw her on screen. You're a part of them. They don't mind going up to your dinner table and not eating. It's important that you have someone with you so you can eat.
The third place winner immediately hired security after this conversation.
It was the best advice I've ever received.
While filming the show, she and her fellow contestants were aware of the consequences of going out in public.
Without security, we couldn't go anywhere.
She said that the show was so large that you couldn't walk more than 10 feet without getting stopped or people wanting pictures and talking to you.
"I don't know how to put into words how crazy it was," he said. When you try to go in public, your brain starts to realize that this is your life.
