The spirit of house music will be present in the away kit of the 2022-23 season, which will be the Reds' first in the premier league.

The Reds paid homage to the city's famous music scene and the role it played in 1990s' dance music by wearing their new alternate jersey.

The shirt is covered in waves of colour that create a shimmering effect similar to the strobe lighting of the era.

During the late '80s and '90s, renowned guest DJs from around the world came to The Grafton, Cream, and The Quad, all of which were located inLiverpool.

An exclusive new track called "Wildside" was produced by Ben Sharples and DJ Yousef, who are both fans of the Reds.

Roberto Firmino, Ibrahima Konate and Diogo Jota were models for the new jersey. When the "Second Summer of Love" swept through the UK in 1988, none of them had even been born.

The kit features a brand new custom typeface for the names and numbers which has been adapted from the block lettering found on the road signs that are dotted around the town.

The club says it will "emphasise the individuality of each player" by putting their names and numbers on the back of the shirts.

The team will wear their new kit when they play Manchester United in Thailand on Tuesday.
