In many gift guides, we recommend the Echo Dot because it combines good audio quality with a compact package. The fabric-covered orb is small enough to fit on a nightstand and we like that you can control it via voice commands or touch. The Dot supports a number of music streaming services, as well as being able to be used as a speaker if you want to. Considering the device's size, it pumps out sound with decent bass and clarity.
