If everything goes according to plan, Bale will stay in Los Angeles for a long time.

Bale said at his introductory news conference that he has many years to go. I came here to be here for a long time. I'm here to stay as long as possible.

The MLS chat is on the FC Daily.

Bale signed a one-year contract with the club. He hopes that by playing in L.A., he will be able to prolong his international career with Wales.

He said that it gave him the best chance to go to the next Euros. I want to work hard. There is a great physical team at LAFC. Going forward, we have a plan to get me up to speed and hopefully last as long as possible.

The United States will beWales' first opponent at the World Cup in November.

Bale said he would spend two to four weeks in the US in the summer before travel restrictions were put in place. He said that it was easier to pick LAFC because of his familiarity.

LAFC has the best record in MLS and Bale is a part of it. The team that was already the favorite to win the MLS Cup got a big boost with his arrival. A third designated player could be added to the roster in the near future.

The team co-president and general manager said that it was clear that the two men shared the same goal. "For us as a club, when the opportunity came, what better way for us to win trophies than to welcome a player who has won 19 trophies at his previous club."

Bale trained with LAFC for the first time on Monday and could make his LAFC debut on Sunday
